Welcome to another fresh update for Magma to kick off your February. We’re always working behind the scenes to refine our product, add new tools, and improve the experience for you and your teams. Here’s what we have for you this time:

Canvas Crop and Resize

At last, you can now adjust your canvas size after you’ve created it. Expand your canvas to accommodate more people and bigger ideas, or crop it down to a focused area.

Resize according to preset ratios, set your own, or just free-crop by dragging the corners to your preferred size. You’ll find the new Crop icon in your left tool bar. More about it in our Crop, Resize, and Trim guide.

Reference Window

This one we’re sure you’re going to like because even our own in-house artist can’t stop talking about it: the floating reference window!

Our Blaze users will now be able to upload images or even use existing canvases as reference floating above their canvas. This saves the need for an additional application or pasting onto your canvas. Read more about it in our Reference Window guide.

Free users (Spark) will have a demo version of the feature which has single default image loaded that they can use in their own studies.

We have a few ideas for ways that we want to take this feature further, but for now, check our guide for more on how it works.

Motion Blur

We added a few different filter tools a while back, and we’re adding a new one to the list: motion blur. Now you can give some directional blur to your backgrounds or fast-moving subjects. Find it in your Filters menu.

Self-served Fusion Plan

We’ve made it easier for you to sign up bigger plans for your teams. Initially, large professional teams and education clients would have to contact our sales team, but starting with this release our Fusion plan is ready for purchase and registration through Magma website. Read more about our pricing plans here.

Thank you!

As always, there are a bunch of little bug fixes and minor improvements which you can see more of in our Changelog. We have more exciting features in the works for the year ahead and we’ll be keeping updating you as they roll out. Happy painting!
